Early Life and Training
Safet Boskić was born on January 31, 1909, in Fojnica and was of Bosnian nationality. He completed flight school in 1932, earning his military pilot’s diploma in 1935. By 1938, he had become a fighter pilot.
Military Career and Combat Ace
In July 1941, Boskić joined Croatian aviation. He achieved all his victories—13 confirmed, three unconfirmed, and one on the ground—during his first tour on the front. From October 1942, he served as a technical officer.
He later served with units such as JG 104 and Fl.U.G.1, contributing his expertise and skills to various aerial operations during the conflict.
Post-War Life and Legacy
Boskić fell into Allied hands but was amnestied in July 1945. Following his release, he settled in Zagreb, where he continued his passion for flying, actively participating in the local aero club.
Safet Boskić passed away in 1980, leaving a legacy as an experienced military aviator who served in wartime and maintained his love for aviation during peacetime.
