The Cessna 551 Citation S/II is an executive aircraft developed by the American firm Cessna Aircraft Company. This aircraft is a modernized version of the Cessna 550 Citation II executive jet. The modified Citation S/II model was announced in October 1983.
The first production aircraft took to the air on February 14, 1984. This modification was equipped with JT15D-4B engines, which developed greater power at significant altitudes.
US Navy Adoption
A later modification of the Citation S/II, the Model 552, was selected in May 1983 by representatives of the U.S. Navy. Its purpose was for use in training radar system operators. Currently, 15 of these aircraft, designated T-47A, are still in operation.
T-47A Model Specifications
These units feature wings with a smaller span and more powerful JT15D-5 engines, providing 12.89 kN of thrust. The JT15D-5 engines deliver 12.89 kN of thrust, optimizing performance for specialized training tasks.
