Origin and Development

The CA-2 is a light multi-purpose aircraft, developed by the American engineer Frank Griffith. The prototype’s first flight occurred in 1992.

Initially, Corning Aircraft handled the production of the machine. In 1999, the rights were transferred to Hummel Aviation. Currently, the license for the production of the CA-2 model belongs to Adams Aeronautics Company.

Technical Specifications

The Adams CA-2 aircraft is a single-seat, braced low-wing monoplane featuring an open cockpit and a monocoque fuselage. It is equipped with a single-cylinder two-stroke Rotax 227 engine, delivering 28 hp (21 kW) with a two-bladed propeller.

Alternative powerplants can include Rotax 447 (40 hp), Rotax 377 (35 hp), 1/2 VW (30 hp), or Hirth F-33 (22 hp) engines.

Acquisition and Cost

The Adams CA-2 is offered to buyers as a complete set of drawings for self-assembly.

The cost for the set of drawings at the end of 2021 was 150 US dollars. According to Adams Aeronautics Company’s estimation, the total cost of building the aircraft should not exceed 5000-6000 US dollars (including the engine cost).
