Development and First Flight
In the mid-1930s, Aeronautica Caproni developed several versions of the Ca.111 bomber. One of these was the Ca.140 transport aircraft, which first flew in November 1935.
Technical Specifications
Distinguished from its predecessor, the Ca.140 featured a more powerful Isotta Franschini Asso 750 RC40 engine, boasting 900 hp. It also included a passenger cabin designed for seven people and a retractable landing gear system.
The Sole Prototype
The only prototype of this aircraft, designated MM.140, was delivered to the Royal Italian Air Force. However, the project did not progress further and received no subsequent development.
