The Caproni Ca.134 reconnaissance aircraft was built in 1937 according to the Ricognitore Strategico Terrestre 36 specification. It was an all-metal biplane equipped with an Isotta Fraschini Asso XI. RC.40 engine, delivering 900 hp. This advanced design aimed to fulfill the strategic reconnaissance needs of the era.
Design and Specifications
Its armament consisted of a forward-firing 12.7 mm machine gun and a 7.7 mm machine gun mounted on a turret for the observer. The prototype aircraft (MM.330) made its maiden flight on January 23, 1937.
Armament and Early Flights
Testing of the aircraft continued for a full two years, after which a second prototype (MM.502) was ordered, taking to the skies on August 23, 1940. Unfortunately, nothing further is known about the fate of this aircraft, leaving its full operational history incomplete.
