Erik Bergbohm was born on October 6, 1884, in Pori. He graduated from the military academy in Hamina in 1903. He subsequently served in the army with the rank of lieutenant and completed his studies at the Hydrographic Institute in 1913.
Aviation Career and International Service
In 1915, Bergbohm left everything behind in St. Petersburg and moved to France, where he obtained his pilot’s license in early 1916. He then fought with both the French and later the Serbian armies.
While serving in Serbia, he was wounded and spent a considerable time recovering in a hospital. The last known information about him dates to September 1919, when he was part of Yudenich’s army advancing on Petrograd.
Final Campaigns and Demise
Erik Bergbohm later joined Wrangel’s army and tragically died in Crimea in 1920.
