Posted on July 17, 2026 By

In the late 1920s, the Caudron company released the C.190, a light multi-purpose aircraft. It was intended for use as a sports plane and for initial training at aero clubs. The C.190 was a two-seater low-wing monoplane, equipped with an 80 hp (58.8 kW) Renault engine.

Development and Variants

The first flight of the C.190 took place in 1929. Following the single C.190, two more modifications were produced as single examples: the C.191 and C.192. Both aircraft were equipped with 95 hp (69.8 kW) Salmson 7AC radial engines, and the C.192 later received the registration number F-AJHF.

Success and Competition

The most successful version of the aircraft was the C.193, featuring a 98 hp (72 kW) Renault 4Pb engine. At least six examples of this model were produced, including registrations F-AJHG, F-AJOB, F-AJSG, F-AJSH, F-AJSI, and F-AJSJ.

In 1929, the C.192 and C.193 models took part in the Challenge 1929 competitions. The following year, three C.193s participated in the Challenge 1930, though they did not achieve great success, with their best result being 17th place.
