The CA-51 is a light sports aircraft designed and built in 1951 by Anton Cvetkovič and members of the Aero Klub Zagreb (ATZ). This aircraft is a wooden low-wing monoplane, notably equipped with a modified Volkswagen car engine that produced 22 horsepower.
Design and Preservation
A total of six CA-51 aircraft were constructed, including the initial prototype. Currently, two of these planes are preserved and displayed in the Museum of Yugoslav Aviation, located in Belgrade, Serbia.
Designer’s Enduring Legacy
The designer, Anton Cvetkovič, later emigrated to the United States. There, he continued his work in aviation, and several aircraft, including the CA-61, CA-65, and CA-2000, were produced based on his innovative designs.
