The Breguet Br.420 was a bomber-reconnaissance aircraft developed by the French firm Societé Anonyme des Atelliers d’Aviation Louis Breguet. This aircraft was a modernized version of the Breguet Br.414, aiming to improve upon its predecessor’s design and capabilities.
Development and First Flight
Its inaugural flight took place on August 13, 1936. The primary modifications focused on the fuselage and tail section structure. These changes were specifically implemented to enhance the aircraft’s longitudinal stability, a crucial factor for its intended operational roles.
Testing and Rejection
Despite undergoing thorough testing, the Br.420, much like its predecessors, ultimately faced rejection. By the time it completed its trials, military requirements had significantly increased, rendering the Br.420 unable to meet the evolving demands of the armed forces.
